Kinetic is making a sensational comeback in the electric two-wheeler segment! The legendary brand, once a household name in India, has just patented a brand-new electric scooter under its Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd division — and it’s bringing back major nostalgia. This upcoming electric scooter draws heavy design inspiration from the iconic Kinetic Honda ZX, combining retro charm with modern elements to create what could be a game-changer in the EV market.
The patent images reveal a sleek silhouette with a rectangular headlamp placed on the handlebar, flanked by retro-styled turn indicators. There’s even a faux flyscreen above the headlight carrying the bold “KINETIC” branding, just like the old ZX. The front apron and fender design are strikingly similar to the original, while updates like a spacious floorboard, squarish ORVMs, and stylish alloy wheels give it a fresh appeal.
Although the rear spare wheel is gone, a chunky single-piece grab rail has taken its place. The scooter seems to sport front disc brakes and a minimalist side panel design that keeps the classic DNA alive.
Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd, a joint venture of Kinetic Engineering Ltd and Kinetic Communications, recently inaugurated a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Ahilya Nagar, Maharashtra. This unit will handle everything from EV development to components like controllers and batteries.
Market insiders believe this upcoming scooter will be launched under the Kinetic Green brand and is likely to challenge existing family-style EVs like the TVS iQube, Ola S1, Hero Vida, Ather Rizta, and Bajaj Chetak. With a retro-modern fusion, Kinetic is not just reviving old memories — it’s gearing up to dominate the roads once again!
