Nissan is soon going to bring a major facelift to its popular sedan Sylphy (Sentra), and its new patent designs have already gone viral on the internet. The special thing this time is that the design includes a twist that reminds one of the premium electric car Xpeng P7+.

The leaked patent images reveal that this facelift version comes with an entirely new face. Talking about the front face, it resembles the Nissan N7 sold in the Chinese market, but with several changes in detailing.

A new L-shaped headlamp unit is provided with a through-type light bar, giving it a modern and aggressive look. As for the rear, the Xpeng P7+-inspired taillights offer a stunning premium feel. These taillights resemble those seen in the previously revealed Nissan EVO concept car, making the rear profile look even more coupe-styled.

Features and Elements That Grab Attention

According to previously seen spy images during testing, this new sedan includes V-shaped front grille, vents on the lower bumper, and traditional door handles on the side profile. Additionally, the car gets dark grey alloy wheels with dense spokes that seem inspired by the Nissan Tanlu. The rear end features a hidden exhaust setup, hinting that this car might be fuel-based and not an EV.

Altima or Sentra

Currently, the Nissan Altima and Sentra (Teana and Sylphy in China respectively) are available in international markets. Altima was first launched in 2018 and Sentra in 2019, which means their update cycle is due soon. Hence, this new model is being considered as the next-generation Sentra/Sylphy. However, some reports also suggest that Altima might be discontinued after 2025, so this car could also be its replacement.

New Taillights Changed the Whole Identity

Whether it is the new Sylphy or the next-gen model of Altima, one thing is clear – a major cosmetic change has been made in this facelift. Especially with taillights resembling the Xpeng P7+, this car now looks more premium and coupe-like. If Nissan brings this design to the production version, this car could prove to be a game-changer in the mid-size sedan segment.
